Terms of service
Effective date: 28 May 2026 · Operator: Roman Gam (Prague, Czechia) · Plain-English text. If anything's unclear, write us — we'll fix the wording.
1. Acceptance & effective date
By creating an account or using RemoteJobs.team you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms apply from the effective date above and supersede any earlier version.
RemoteJobs.team is operated by Roman Gam, Prague, Czechia (acting as a natural person, not a registered company) — see the contact page for full operator identification.
2. Who can use this
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be a real human. Automated accounts, scraper bots, and AI-agent-only accounts are not permitted.
- You must have been invited by an existing member. There is no public registration — entering through any other mechanism is prohibited.
- You must use your real name and a working email address. Pseudonyms ("@handle" displayed publicly) are allowed only as a supplement, not a replacement.
- One person, one account. Sharing accounts or operating multiple accounts per person is grounds for suspension.
3. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password (or OAuth provider session) secure. We'll never ask for your password by email.
- You agree to keep your contact email working — we use it for invite-acceptance notifications, offline-message digests, and security-relevant notices.
- You can soft-delete your account at any time from the data-protection page. Soft-delete clears your personal fields and leaves the graph intact (you appear as "Former member" to others).
- You can request a hard purge (Article 17 GDPR) — see the data-protection page for the process and consequences. Hard purge is irreversible.
4. Code of conduct
RemoteJobs.team is a small network. The whole product only works because members treat each other like real people. By using the site you agree:
- No spam. Don't send unsolicited bulk messages, off-topic DMs, or recruiter-style cold pings to members you don't actually know in real life.
- No harassment. No discrimination, no slurs, no targeted abuse, no doxxing. Members can report abuse at any time.
- No misrepresentation. Don't claim a job is remote when it isn't. Don't claim to mentor on topics you don't have hands-on experience with. Don't fake credentials in your profile.
- No off-platform recruiting funnel. If you got someone's contact through the network, don't add them to your bulk recruiter CRM. The network isn't a lead list.
- Use the invite mechanic in good faith. Don't sell invites. Don't invite strangers. Invite only people you genuinely know.
- Respect mentorship as a gift, not a service. Mentors are members donating their time — no payment, no formal SLAs. If a mentor doesn't reply, move on graciously.
5. Job postings & warm intros
- Any member may post a job. There is no vouching threshold and no admin pre-approval.
- The job poster commits to personally hand off candidates who reach out through the warm-intro CTA — unless the poster opts that off at post-time. Don't post jobs you can't actually hand off.
- All job posts must be fully remote. RemoteJobs.team does not accept hybrid or onsite listings — that boundary is the whole brand. A post that quietly requires office days, or that hides the requirement behind vague phrasing, will be hidden by an admin; repeat offenders are suspended.
- Job posts must be truthful about job type, region restrictions, and compensation. Mis-categorising a salaried role as Product sales (or vice versa) to game the filters is grounds for the same hide / suspend pathway.
- Other members can report a job post. Three or more reports triggers admin review.
- We don't proxy applications. The apply URL or email belongs to the hiring company, not us — we never see the actual application traffic.
- Jobs auto-archive at the expiry date set by the poster (default 21 days, configurable up to 60).
6. What you post
- You own your content. Your bio, your profile links, your messages, your job posts — they're yours.
- By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host and display your content to other members of RemoteJobs.team for as long as your account is active. This license is exactly as broad as it needs to be to show the site, no broader.
- When you soft-delete, your content stays on the site attributed to "Former member" (so other members' threads and connections aren't orphaned). When you hard-purge, your content is removed.
- You agree not to post content you don't have the right to post (third-party copyrighted material, confidential employer info, personal data of people who haven't consented).
7. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate an account for:
- Repeated code-of-conduct violations.
- Posting misleading job content after a warning.
- Using the platform for spam, fraud, or off-platform recruiter scraping.
- Operating multiple accounts per person.
- Court order or legal compulsion.
Suspension hides your profile and freezes login — the connection graph is preserved. We'll email you the reason. You can dispute via the contact form.
You may close your account at any time (soft-delete or hard-purge) — see data protection.
8. Disclaimers
- RemoteJobs.team is provided as-is. We don't guarantee that you'll find a job, that any specific job is suitable for you, or that any specific mentor will reply.
- Members are not our employees, contractors, or representatives. The warm-intro mechanic helps you reach a hiring manager faster — it does not guarantee an interview, an offer, or an outcome.
- Jobs are posted by individual members, not endorsed by us. We don't vet companies. Do your own diligence before signing anything.
- We don't sell, broker, or guarantee the work relationships that form between members.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Czech law:
- The operator (Roman Gam) is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site.
- The operator is not liable for the outcomes of any interaction between members — including but not limited to job introductions, mentor sessions, hiring decisions, salary outcomes, contractual disputes, or interpersonal conflicts.
- The operator's total cumulative liability to any one member for any cause whatsoever is limited to CZK 100 (one hundred Czech crowns) — RemoteJobs.team is a labor of love, not a commercial service, and is offered free of charge specifically on that basis.
10. Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Any dispute that can't be resolved through the contact form first will be settled by Czech courts with jurisdiction over Prague, in accordance with Czech civil procedure.
For data-protection matters specifically, the supervisory authority is Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (ÚOOÚ), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, Czechia — uoou.gov.cz.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Substantive changes (new obligations on you, new data uses, change of operator) will be announced by email to every active account at least 30 days before they take effect, with a copy of the updated text. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Typo fixes, formatting changes, and other non-substantive edits we'll just make — the "Effective date" at the top of this page always reflects the latest substantive revision.
