Your data, your control

RemoteJobs.team is built so every GDPR right is self-serve. No tickets, no waiting on email. Pick what you need below.

Export your data

Article 15 + 20

Download everything we hold about you as a single ZIP — profile, messages, connections, jobs you posted, the personal notes you wrote on your invites. JSON + plain text.

Correct your data

Article 16

Any field on your profile is editable from the profile-edit screen. For things that aren't on your profile (e.g. a message you sent), tell us — we'll handle it.

Soft-delete (default)

Anonymized — graph preserved

Your personal fields are wiped: name → "Former member", email cleared, avatar → neutral placeholder, bio & links cleared. Your past messages and the connections you built remain — attributed to a generic placeholder. Reversible by re-creating an account.

Hard purge

Article 17 — irreversible

We remove your user row entirely, null foreign keys on connections / messages / jobs you posted. Conversations you were part of will have orphan placeholders on the other party's side. Cannot be undone.

Soft-delete vs hard-purge — at a glance

Most people want soft-delete: it removes you from the network's surface but doesn't erase the friend who introduced you, the message thread someone else still has open, or the job post that helped someone get hired. Hard-purge is the legal right we'll exercise on explicit request — but its consequences are wider than people sometimes expect.

Your dataAfter soft-deleteAfter hard-purge
Display name + email + avatar Wiped → "Former member" Row removed
Bio + links + location Cleared Row removed
Your messages Visible on the other side, attributed to "Former member" Other side sees orphan thread (sender unknown)
Connection rows Preserved — graph keeps its shape Edges removed where you were a node
Job posts you authored Visible, attributed to "Former member" Row removed (post disappears)
Invites you sent Preserved — invitee keeps their connection Invitee's "invited by" line becomes orphan
Reversible? Effectively yes — re-create an account No. Permanent.
Processing time Immediate Up to 30 days (legal max under GDPR)
